Mother of the Bride Makeup Tips

No doubt your daughter (or daughterinlaw) has told you numerous times how it her day, but we know that this wedding will be just as important to you too. a religious skincare routine is very important, says Kate Pritchard, Face Designer for Giorgio Armani Cosmetics. will maintain the skin so no nasty surprises arise before the big day. Start by exfoliating once a week. will eliminate dead skin cells and minimise pores, resulting in smooth, radiant skin which allows makeup to glide on, says Pritchard. You should also be cleansing daily. The next (and possibly the most important) step is hydration, which is essential when it comes to radiance. primer will smooth out the skin creating an easy palette for the foundation to glide on to, says Pritchard, while also reducing the textured appearance that mature skin has. Dab concealer onto any blemishes or marks.

When choosing your foundation, avoid thick formulas that look cakey and sink into your fine lines. skin becomes drier with age and your makeup must allow for this. Ireland agrees. liquid foundation in a lightreflecting formula will give the most natural youthful look. tip: is very important to use the correct brushes when applying makeup. The right brush will blend the makeup into the skin rather than leaving it sitting on top of fine lines. Kate Pritchard, Giorgio Armani Cosmetics

If you prone to shine, blend a loose powder over your foundation. Well groomed eye brows help frame the face and can even lift the appearance of droopy eyes. Choose a lipstick in brighter or lighter shades to add fullness. Avoid dark tones which can be too harsh against your skin tone. will minimise any creasing, says Ireland. Next a concealer should be applied on the eye lid and under the eye in a shade lighter to brighten and open up the eye area for a rested and youthful look.

When choosing your eye shadow, colour and formula are important. colours of eye shadow are too complicated for older lids. Instead use two neutral shades and blend them so they look natural, says Robson. We recommend using a matte eye shadow through the crease of the eyes as shimmery formulas draw attention to any fine lines and puffiness. Save the shimmery shades for the inner part of your lid to awaken the eyes. Perdis has another trick; open up your eyes by curling your lashes with an eyelash curler before applying mascara. Then with a waterproof mascara, focus on applying mascara to your top eye lashes for an upward lifting effect.

Expert tip: dab of concealer at the inner eye corners, blended well, will really make you look bright, fresh and awake. Pamela Robson, Grownup Gorgeous in Your 50sChoosing the right colours is vital for mature skin. The best colours, according to Pritchard, are neutral earthy tones. hues are the most suitable rather than dark harsh colours. You should also avoid using shimmery or very bright colours as they magnify your imperfections. choosing colours for your eyes, cheeks and lips, pick different tones from the same colour family, and avoid mixing cool and warm colours in the one makeup look, says Perdis.

Bobbi Brown, founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, recommends a bit of colour on your cheeks with a cream blush topped with just a touch of powder blush to help it last; it will soften your overall appearance. Napoleon Perdis also recommends considering your clothes when picking colours. colours that complement your outfit, says Perdis, remember that you don have to match your makeup exactly with what you wearing. tip: dusting of pastel pink blush on the apples of your cheeks is also a clever way to distract attention from the dark circles. Biggest mistakes mature women make

blending in their makeup properly. Using brushes will not only give a flawless finish but it will save you time and half your product. Kate Pritchard, Giorgio Armani Cosmetics

too much bronzer; a sunkissed look can be healthy but a dark tan can be terribly ageing. Jahi Ireland, Est Lauder

common mistake is the use of harsh colours. A bright pink lipstick and blush won necessarily the face. It depends on the individual skin tone. Kate Pritchard, Giorgio Armani Cosmetics

is a misconception that mature women should stick to matte products in fear that shimmer will accentuate lines. Try dewy hydrating products for an instant lift. Kate Pritchard, Giorgio Armani Cosmetics

Makeup For Acne Scars

Acne Scar TypesAcne scars come in many different forms. First, there's simple hyperpigmentation that's left behind as a part of your body's inflammatory response. This usually fades over time. Rolling scars leave subtle indentations on the skin, while boxcar scars have sharp, defined edges and can be very depressed. Finally, icepick scars are very narrow and look like a big pore, but can be very deep. You obviously can't cover up depressions and indentations in the skin with makeup, but you can make them less noticeable.

FoundationFoundation is a key component to any acne scar concealing arsenal. It's important to find a shade that matches your skin tone precisely. Your best bet is to go to a department store and have a makeup artist there match a shade to your skin tone. This will help the foundation blend more evenly into your neck and look more natural. Look for a brand that offers full coverage to hide red marks and makes depressions less noticeable. Be careful to choose a product that's oilfree and won't clog pores to prevent additional acne breakouts.

ToolsWhen using makeup to cover acne scars, it's important to have the right tools on hand. Foam makeup sponges are a must for applying foundation evenly and blending it well. Plus, they're disposable, so you won't introduce bacteria onto your face with repeated use. You should also have a concealer brush, which is available from any department store or makeup company for applying foundation or concealer to specific spots on the face. A large powder brush is also necessary for applying and blending in loose powder and avoiding a cakedon appearance. It should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. LIVESTRONG is a registered trademark of the LIVESTRONG Foundation. A Busy Girl's Guide To Makeup

And while she's constantly crushing it at her job, she also goes to Soul Cycle every morning. Oh, and she's got two kids. How could we forget that? So our biggest question ishow does she manage to leave the house looking presentable, let alone impeccable?

WATCH: Day to Night Makeup in Under a Minute

Perhaps, dear friends, she has tapped into the 5Minute Face. Let's be honest, whether you're like your power coworker or not, most of us are not blessed with the luxury of time. Or maybe for you Sephora is more like a maze of mystery than a palatial playground? Fret not.

We tapped into four beauty experts to get their take on the 5Minute Face:

Emmy Award Winning Beauty Expert Kevin James Bennett says that first and foremost, that skincare is your 1 concern.

"Dealing with skin 'challenges' eats up the precious time you should be spending getting gorgeous. A quick exfoliation will clear away dull, dead skin cells that are preventing your makeup from sitting pretty and looking its best. I love 'enzyme' exfoliants because they're extremely effective and gentle enough to use frequently. One of my faves is Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant, which uses fruit (papain) and rice enzymes."

And for putting on that foundation, he recommends a tinted moisturizer (a BB/CC Cream) but says to avoid the storebought stuff and just make your own!

"I love the versatility of a medium to fullcoverage liquid makeup that can be multipurpose and Make Up For Ever's HD Foundation is perfect for this. Put a small amount of foundation on the heel of your palm and then mix in a few drops of treatment oil designed for all skin types, like Nude Skincare's ProGenius. Apply to your skin while it's still slightly damp (after you've exfoliated and patted dry). It will seal in the moisture, even out your skin tone, cover minor imperfections, and leave a gorgeous glow. Apply a little of the full strength foundation where you need extra coverage."

The Experts Guide to Makeup Trials

I put myself in the hands of a top Bobbi Brown makeup artist to see what I could learn about bridal makeup trials. The following tips will save you time, stress and guarantee you are looking nothing short of beautiful on your wedding day.

Book Your MakeupTrials Well In Advance

Don make the mistake of leaving your bridal makeup trials to the last minute, after all you want your face be as perfect as your gown. A smart plan? Start your trials as much as 12 months, and at least 3 months, before your wedding day. Then be prepared to meet again in the weeks leading up to the wedding to do a runthrough.

Why start so far in advance? There are many advantages: the weather conditions should be roughly the same which will help in the selection of a style and suitable products, you have plenty of time to experiment until you find look that suits both you and will work in front of the camera. Plus your skin is likely to be in a similar condition so your makeup artist can also help you to review what needs to be focused on with your long term skincare regime.

It also gives you scope to do as many trials as you need to feel 100% happy with both the makeup artist and their ability to help you achieve your dream look. Many cosmetics houses makeover fee is redeemable against a purchase (Bobbi Brown currently offer this), so it a fun idea to book in a makeup test run when you are in need of new skincare or cosmetics. Appointments

Some brides get up at the crack of dawn on their wedding day due to overwhelming excitement or nerves, but the majority simply get up with the birds so they can spend several hours getting glammed up in the beauty chair. By scheduling your makeup trials in the morning too you be able to review how your makeup copes with the stresses of the day and night ahead. Be sure to take note of what needs to be done throughout to keep it looking fresh.

Another trick? Try to book in on a day you have a special event to go to your engagement party or another friends wedding for example.

So don be too quick to wipe it off if you don like it, at least ask why they have chosen to be more heavy/light/bright/muted etc than you would have done yourself. That said if you feel they have gotten it completely wrong don be scared to speak up and have the makeup worked on until you are happy and feel comfortable to keep on going with the day.

Speak Up!

You can never have too much information or ask too many questions (though you may have to stop talking at some point tricky to apply gloss to a mouth that is moving at a hundred miles per hour).

As well as images take along some written notes on key points include date of wedding, location of ceremony and reception; how much time to be spent outdoors; expected temperature/conditions; colour of the bouquets/boutonnieres/ties and bridesmaid gowns; your favourite colours of shadow and gloss and if you plan on getting a spray tan. Homework always gets rewarded!

Photograph The Results

By taking some self portraits once you jump out of the chair and throughout the day/night you then be able to review how the makeup worked for the camera, be it an amateurs, and also workout what you will need for touchups!

Above all have fun with your trials, you will walk away with new tricks and products that will probably change your outlook on beauty for life!

Images: I took the below two very basic photographs of myself from an arms length which helped me understand how the makeup would work indoors, in softer daylight as well as in the evening. It really is quite amazing at how well the Bobbi Brown products that were selected for me lasted through to the night and required so little to refresh (the PM shot was taken 9 hours after my makeup session and I had simply touched up my blush and gloss). See the face chart which explains in detail the steps taken and products used by the Bobbi Brown team.

Tips on make up

Tips on makeup for a "baby face"?

I about to start my junior year of High School and I don typically wear makeup. On rare occasions I may were eyeliner on the inside of my upper eyelid and mascara, or BB Cream if I happen to have a rare break out. Although I sixteen, people often mistake me for being fourteen or twelve. I am petite for my age, only 4 and ninety six pounds, so it doesn help my case. I also starting to wear my hair down more in hopes that it help as well. I know, I appreciate my baby face in the oncoming years but for now, I just want to feel beautiful. I don think that I ugly, I would just like to bring out my features and smile without comparing myself to the girl sitting beside me in class. I going to go school shopping soon and would really appreciate any tips that anyone has to give. Thank you.(:

3 weeks agoI love the way my makeup looks, but the real trick is practice. Buy a lash curler! Put on plenty of mascara and then curl them! Big eye lashes make a big difference. I buy liquid liner and put on a very thin line above the top lid. That part takes the most practice. You should probably start out with light eye shadow colors, whatever you think will look good with your irises and hair color. I use like a light lavender on my lid then apply some dark purple on the outer corner of my eye. Then I uses some pencil liner on the outer corner of the inside of my bottom lid. Then some foundation. And trust me you cannot feel uncomfortable with it (too much) and expect to go out and feel confident. You have to get comfortable with a little, then a little more, then a little more until you love the look, like me:)16 year old country gal

I 16 and starting my junior year as well! In fact, I got a baby/round face so if I not wearing makeup, I could pass as a 13 year old. However I been wearing makeup for awhile now and I learned how to look older :) Eyeliner is a big thing. Don wear too much. Otherwise, you will look like a tryhard which may make you look younger. Using liquid liner on the top lid is an easy way to use eyeliner and it won smudge. With eyeshadows, I like to mix neutral colors with kind of a "smokey" eye effect but not as intense. I don use this for an everyday look though. Mascara will help open up your eyes and you definitely look more mature. I like using L mascaras but also Revlon Lash Potion but a good starter one would be the volumizing one by Covergirl. With blush, stay away from putting blush on the apples of your cheeks because while it may give you a rosy glow, it will also look quite young as young children usually have this flush on their cheeks. Try using bronzer and contouring instead! It should go beneath your cheekbones in the hollows of your face. It will give your face a less round shape. Filling in your brows will also make you look older. Lastly, rather than using lip gloss, use a matte lipstick. If you don want any lipstick, then I say just a hydrating lip balm.

My VERY last thing is, remember that you beautiful and makeup is meant to enhance the natural beauty already there :) don feel like you need to compare yourself to those girls with full faces of makeup or who look more mature! Embrace what you have :)

Good news for you! There are so many ways to avoid the "baby face" look.

1. Unless you have high cheekbones, your cheeks are one of the main contributors to the "baby face". If you apply a light blush to your cheekbones properly, it will bring the direction up rather than giving the impression of round "baby cheeks".

2. Try a little natural colored eye shadow. This will make your eyes pop when you put the eyeliner on over it. If you like, put some mascara on your bottom lashes, this will open up your eyes more.

Tips On Makeup To Hide Scars

ConcealerPurchase a concealer from a professional makeup line for best results. Professional concealers contain more pigment than drugstore brands, which provides better coverage. Look for brands that are designed for scar coverage. "The Manual of Dermatologic Therapeutics: With Essentials of Diagnosis," recommends the cosmetic brands Covermark and Dermablend for camouflaging scars. For a natural look, choose a concealer that closely matches your skin tone. For better scar coverage, pick a concealer that has a corrective hue undertone to cover scars. David E. Bank and Estelle Sobel recommend in their book "Beautiful Skin: Every Woman's Guide to Looking Her Best at Any Age," using green undertones to cover redtoned scars and mauve undertones to cover bluetoned scars.

Apply the concealer first, before any other cosmetics. Apply the concealer over your scars using a cosmetic sponge and blend the foundation into the surrounding areas of skin.

FoundationAs with the concealer, choose a foundation from a professional makeup line to get the best coverage. Choose a foundation that closely matches your skin tone. If you have difficulty choosing the right color of foundation, ask the salesperson at the makeup counter for advice. You can purchase foundations with corrective color undertones for additional skin color correction.

Apply the foundation over your entire face, using a cosmetic sponge. Apply a small amount of foundation at a time and only use enough to make your skin look smooth and scarfree. Too much foundation looks obvious and can make scars appear worse. Blend the foundation well around your neckline so there is no distinguishable mark between the color of your face and the color of your neck.

PowderPowder is the last step for scar coverage. The powder is not used to camouflage scars, but is rather used to set makeup so that it stays put and does not smear. The powder also gets rid the shiny appearance on skin caused by the concealer and foundation. Use a loose translucent powder for a natural look.

Brush on the translucent powder, using a large powder brush. Apply enough powder to make your foundation look matte (not shiny). If your face becomes shiny throughout the day, blot the excess oil off your face using rice paper sheets. It should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. LIVESTRONG is a registered trademark of the LIVESTRONG Foundation. What eyeshadow color is best for dark blue eyes

On One Hand: Contrast ColorsContrast colors can make your eye color appear more vivid, so cosmetics experts suggest you choose an eyeshadow that is opposite your eye color on the color wheel. For example, if you have dark blue eyes, you should look for brown hues: Taupe, tan, peach, and chocolate are all popular choices among individuals with blue eyes.

On the Other: Consider other factorsYour eye color is not the only factor to consider when choosing an eyeshadowskin tone and hair color can help you reach a decision. If you have a cool complexion with pink or blue undertones, experts suggest you choose a cool, clear brown hue such as sable, rosebrown or suede. A warm complexion with golden undertones is best complemented by warmer shades: Coffee, camel and golden brown are all examples.

Bottom LineExperts agree that brown hues work best with blue eyes, but since there are a number of shades of brown, you should also consider complexion to ensure you choose a shade that will best complement your eyes. Dark blues are opposite rich browns on the color wheel, so those are the hues you should try when looking for an eyeshadow that will make your eyes pop. I usually wear brown or a natural eyeshadow but now it looks to dark on me. What color eyeshadow would suit my new hair color?

Wonder What makeup guys prefer on girls

Of course some guys love heavy makeup. Some guys don't like any at all. But from a classical standpoint, I believe that saying is the guideline.

My personal opinion falls in the middle. I don't mind a little makeup; but for example, I think blue eyeshadow looks silly. And lipstick can really accentuate a woman's lips; but if you choose Rocky Horror Red then I think that's going overboard.

Of course I do find some women wearing heavy makeup attractive. But not in a classy way. They fit into a different category of sexy in my mind. So I guess it depends on what you're going for.

Wow i have never heard of a women even think of asking guys to answer this but i give you props because i i have 3 sisters so i feel like i can help you ! IMO i feel like to much make up that is noticeable and caked on is bad and takes away from the woman's natural beauty but when a light foundation that matches the skin pretty well along with a little blemish is the perfect mix for any time formal or not. And i fell when women get all dolled up for an event like a wedding, prom etc. they get almost everything done if not over done so why not keep your make up the same ? From the pictures i see you do it just right. Hopes this help's

You Can Do A Smoky Eye

When coming to doing a smoky eye, nothing can be sexier than a sophisticated smoky eye. This is especially true if youre planning to attend an evening event and you want to spotlight your eye makeup. A smoky eye adds personality, always look beautiful and stylish, and it transforms the look of the smoky eye wearer. The good thing about a smoky eye is that a more modified version can be worn in the day, but more so in the evening especially if its a dramatic look youre after. You dont have to be a skilled makeup artist to create the look. For all the ladies who have been asking how do I do a smoky eye, heres your chance to create a dramatic look like a pro.

Dramatic Smoky Eye

It is always best to start with an eye shadow base. You will need the following products: (Black Out Indelible Gel Eyeliner). Because this gel eyeliner adheres to the skin and does not crease, you can use it as your base. Youll also need a black eyeshadow (Tar eyeshadow), a flat matte eye shadow that blends well with any skin tone (Tan eyeshadow), a subtle highlighter that also blends well with any skin tone (Honey Glow eyeshadow) and a black kohl liner (Ebony Eye Perfect Automatic Liner).

What You Need

A brush to apply the black base, and one for blending the black eyeshadow (Liner/Chisel Fluff brush). This duo brush is perfect for creating a smoky eye. It saves time since one side is used to apply the black base, while the other side is used to apply the eyeshadow. A blending brush (Angle Fluff brush), and Eye Makeup Dissolving Fluid for quick and easy cleanups.

Using the flat side of the Liner/Chisel Fluff brush, dab a small amount of Black Out Indelible Gel Eyeliner on the inner portion of your lid. Following the natural curvature of your eye, blend upwards and outwards covering the lower and outer part of your lid.

Dont worry if you see some fading as you blend upward and outward. Using the fluff side of the Liner/Chisel Fluff brush, apply Tar eyeshadow and pat gently over Black Out Indelible Gel Eyeliner to set. Apply more Tar eyeshadow as needed when you blend.

Using the Angle Fluff brush for highlighting, apply Tan eyeshadow directly underneath your brow onto your brow bone. Blend towards the inner and outer portion of your brow. Here you can keep using Tan eyeshadow or use a soft sheen eyeshadow like Honey Glow. Blend the outermost edge of the Tar eyeshadow with Honey Glow eyeshadow to soften the black edges. Using the fluff side of the Liner/Chisel brush, dab a small amount of Tar eyeshadow and hold the brush horizontally against your lower lash line. Gentle brush back and forth close to your inner lash line. As you do this, clean up any excess shadow using a Qtip with the Eye Makeup Dissolving Fluid.

Line the inside of your eyes with using Ebony Eye Perfect Automatic Liner. It is water resistant, easy to use and does not smear or irritate the eyes. Start in the middle of your lower lash line and line back and forth until completely covered with liner.

Shimmery Smoky Eye

Want a shimmery black smoky look? Using an Oval Shadow brush, gently apply Platinum eyeshadow over lid and pat. You can also go back to using the fluff side of the Liner /Chisel brush and dab some of the Platinum eyeshadow and pat over your lid. Your eyes will be a bit more shimmery than before. For a typical shimmery smoky eye, you can use Bliss or White Sparkle Loose Mineral Eye Dust as your base and Tar eyeshadow to achieve almost the same look only more subtle.

Now top it off with Super Lash or Waterproof mascara and your eyes are finished. Keep cheek and lip colors to a minimum because the focus should stay only on your eyes. Use a soft blush like Sandstone and a deeper contouring color like Cocoa to dramatize features. Lips are best left in either neutral or nude shades like Femme or Nectar Super Gloss This will not destroy the look. These games bring unusual life experiences and unpredictable outcomes. The range of adventurous sports is wide because it includes all the sports activities such as mountain clim .

Top Ten Practical Eye Make Up Tips

Eye makeup may be tricky, but with some practice, you can create the look you want for any occasion. From bedroom eyes, smokey eye makeup to the sweet and pretty look. Let you imagination go wild as you play up your eyes.

These practical tips help you get started

1. Keep you eye liner pencils in the fridge. Kohl can get soft and smudgy in the sun. Refrigerate the pencils before you sharpen then. As the kohl hardens, it would be easier to sharpen and to work with right out of the fridge.

2. Use a white eye pencil to line the insides of your lower lash line. The white would make your eyes brighter. Be careful you don't hurt your eyes though.

3. Depuff your eyes before you use eye makeup. Lie down with your eyes shut an a slice of cucumber over each eye.

4. Use a concealer to hide the dark circles, even if you want to go for smoky eye makeup.

5. For dramatic eyes, there is no need to go for a rainbow of colors. You could do it subtly with an electric blue eyeliner on nude eyeshadows, or play up your eyes with a single bright color like violet, or even orange, but offset it ith neutrals like browns, grays and blacks.

6. For cats eyes, try a liquid eye liner on the upper lash line. Start with a thin line from the inner corner, but thicken the line dramatically from the center of the eye outwards and wing out. Draw the line thick and upwards at the outer corner of each eye.

7. For day to night makeup, start off with browns and neutral eyeshadow. Okay, pink and peach would do fine too as long as the color isn't too shocking. For night, add on a vivid color from lash to crease. And play up the eyes with a strong eyeliner.

8. Use metallic eyeshadow for glamour. A light touch of shimmer over the center of the eyelid and on the brow bone would suffice for day. For night, you could go for gilded eyelids, painting the entire eyelid gold or silver or a strong metallic for glamour.

9. Groom your eyebrows. There is no need to pluck them to a fine line. You could simply comb them upwards and trim them with a tiny pair of scissors if they are unruly.

10. Comb your lashes after applying mascara. Keep a clean, dry masacara wand to separate your lashes after each application of mascara. Use a mascara that builds length and fullness without going brittle or flaking or clumping. Lancome Hypnose mascara is a pretty good mascara which builds length easily and stays soft.

Top 10 Best Makeup Product Tips and Tricks

Tip 1 is your makeup can only look as good as your skin does, so it all starts with great skincare. Find yourself a great skincare routine that consists of a cleanser, toner, day moisturizer and a night moisturizer. Don't forget the seasons too, your skin will dramatically change in the winter and summer as the weather does. A few great add on products you can add to your routine are MAC's "Fix+" it's a spay fluid of vitamins and minerals, infused with a blend of green tea, chamomile, and cucumber. It can be used before makeup to add moisture to your skin and/or after to finish/set makeup or even refresh it a couple hours later. The other is also a MAC product called "Strobe Cream" it's the ultimate quick fix for the skin, It is infused with iridescent particles and makes your skin glow, it also boosts the look of dull or tiredlooking skin.

I am 100% loyal to MAC eyeshadows but there are other great brands out there. Nars makes great eyeshadows, as well as Makeup Forever, but I stick to MAC because I get a discount there for being a makeup artist and I love their palette system, as it's made for professional use. In my opinion higher quality brands only make a big difference if you're going for bright, bold colours. One brand that is fairly inexpensive and has a great variety of colour choices is NYX. The best bang for your buck will come from using an eye primer

I am a self admitted mascara junkie and have tried almost every brand on the market. I find mascara is a very personal preference and depends on your "type" of eyelashes. I would say mine are pretty average, not too long or short, and not thick but not too thin either. One of my all time favorite mascaras that I always go back to is L'oreal's "Voluminous" and a trick I have discovered is using a mascara like Cover Girl "Lash Blast" (that has a plastic brush) first to define and separate them and then use a volumizing mascara to add drama and thickness (L'oreal Voluminous)

I have found that you have to spend a bit more money on eyeliner, cheap drugstore brands seem to just melt and smudge off. If you're going for a pencil look my two favorites are Makeup Forever's "Aqua Eyes" and Urban Decay's "24/7". If you're going for a dramatic classic eyeliner look I recommend a gel eyeliner applied with a eyeliner brush, a few of my fav's are MAC's "Fluidline" and Bobbi Brown's "Long Wear Gel Eyeliner" they are both water resistant and will last all day, it's also great for your upper and lower water lines (tightlining) The gel eyeliners take a bit of practice to learn how to apply them properly, so a great way to go is the new felt tip eyeliners. Kat Von D makes a great one in a variety of colours, available at sephora. Smashbox, MAC, and Hourglass all make one as well, just be careful as many of them aren't water resistant.

Foundation is a tough product for a lot of women, it was the first high quality product I ever bought. The difference between drug store brands and department store brands isn't necessarily quality but more so colours, I had a hard time finding a colour that matched my skin tone, as do most women. Higher end department brands tend to group their colours in warm and cool (Yellow/pink) and drug store brands don't which can result in a muddy looking colour. If you're lucky enough to find a brand that matches your skin tone and works for your skin then go with it. A few drugstore brands that I find are long lasting and have pretty good colour choices are Revlon "Colorstay" and Maybeline "Superstay 24 hours", be careful when applying because they dry quickly. One of my favorite foundations right now is Bare Escentuals "Bare Minerals" it's a mineral powder foundation, so it feels like you're not wearing any makeup at all, but it has great coverage and lasts all day. I used to work at Sephora and I recommended it to all my customers and I've gotten a few of my friends hooked on it as well.

If I would recommend one easy quick, inexpensive, easy trick to women to take their makeup look to another level it would be to contour and highlight their face. Our faces aren't flat and the sun and lights hit each plane of our face differently and create shadows and reflect light. Think of when you get a sunburn on your face and where it burns. Just like our cheeks are naturally rosy, so why use one colour of foundation to make it all one shade? If you're going to do one and not the other, I would contour, you can start out by just using your current bronzer or darker powder shade (maybe your summer colour) but use it in strategic places(see picture below). So many companies make a 3 in 1 blush, bronzer and highlighting compact which makes it super easy and inexpensive. You can contour and highlight with matte colours or shimmers, I find too much shimmer doesn't work for most people, but it can for some, but it never looks good in photo's because of the way it reflects light. I find it's best to use either your contour or highlight in a shimmer and the other in a matte. It may take awhile for you to find the colours that work best for you, some people like their highlight with some pink in it and other more white/frosty. For darker skin tones you can't really use the white powders because it will make your skin look ashy, different shades of bronzer usually works best for that.

Ladies, I can't say enough how important eyebrows are, nothing drives me more crazy that a beautiful girl with beautiful makeup, but she's put no effort into her eyebrows. I am a victim of teenage over tweezing and now I'm left with thin, sparse eyebrows that I have to fill in everyday. So my advice to you is go see an eyebrow specialist, I go every two weeks but you can get away with every 46 weeks depending how dark your hair is and how fast it grows in. For you light haired girls I would recommend using an matte eyeshadow colour, one or two shades lighter than your natural eyebrow colour and use an angle brush to fill them in and make a more fluid line and then use a clear mascara or even put some hair gel on an empty mascara wand to make all your hairs flow in the same direction. For darker haired girls I would use a brow pencil, MAC makes a great one that is super thin for more natural looking lines and I use an eyeshadow over top to set them and make them last longer, but my all time favorite product is Makeup Forever's eyebrow corrector, it's waterproof and even lasts through a gym workout and a day at the beach. It's a cream/gel that comes in a tube and you apply it with an angle brush.

I'm not going to go too much into lips because there's so much to talk about them, as far as colour goes, anyone can rock any colour, you just have to have the confidence to own it! Lip liners go a long way in making your colour last. A few of my favorite products on the market right now are Revlon's "ColorBurst Lip Butter" they feel like a chapstick but have colour like a lipstick, they feel amazing and they have about 15 different shades. Another Favorite gloss of mine is MAC's "Cremesheen Glass" It's a lipgloss that isn't sticky and sloppy, it's smooth and feels like butter, the colour selection is limited to nudes and pinks, but that's the look I love right now. I love dark eyeshadows and if you go dark on the eyes, go lighter on the lips!

Tips For Five Minute Make

1. Moisturize. It is imperative for good skin care. Don't cheat on this step! Gently apply all over the face. For best results, you would allow the moisturizer set in for a couple of minutes but if you're in a hurry, don't worry. Moving on

2. Put on your base or foundation. To achieve an even skin tone it is best to blend the foundation into your skin. Have a sponge or brush, and put foundation all over the face  brow, cheeks, chin and nose. Ensure that there are no streaks or areas that don't look natural. You need to get an even tone. (Be careful around the jaw  it is easy to stop applying foundation directly on the edge of the chin, which looks really obvious. Make sure you blend it in.)

3. Apply blusher. Now your skin tone is an even color, put some color back in your cheeks. A powder blusher is good  apply it in a line under your cheek bones. You don't need much, just a light amount to color to your cheeks  don't overdo the blusher!

4. Put your eyeshadow on. You don't have time to be fussy with mixing colors, so just work out what color will do by itself for today. With a brush, put eyeshadow on your eyelids and just below your eyebrow. The tip of your finger works well to blend the eyeshadow line into your skin.

5. Eyeliner can be added. Seeing how time is limited, you will want to only focus on one part today, let's look at the edge of your eyes. With a pencil or liquid liner, apply to the corners of your eyes. Try not to move about too much now, or you'll have to clean up and begin again. You'll need a steady hand here.

6. Now mascara. When you're ok with the eyeshadow and liner, apply mascara. Begin on upper lashes and quickly draw the brush from the base of your lashes and upward. Be sure to get the corners of your lashes too. Do again on the bottom lashes. Get rid of clumps using a cotton swab and avoid blinking much as the mascara dries.

7. Add a finishing touch with a subtle lip color. The lips still need some color even if you choose not to use a lip liner. After you apply the lipstick, and before you blot with a tissue, press your lips together to make sure that it is spread well.

In a matter of five minutes, you're face is complete. If you've have time leftover, you can quickly dab your nose with powder, check your blusher color and see if your eyebrows have good color. No one will know that you only had five minutes to do your face when you head out!

Beauty Tips To Help You Update Your Look

Many people are looking for different things to add to their beauty routine because they want to feel beautiful. There are many different tips and tricks over the years you have heard but may have forgotten. This article contains tips and tricks that will help you look and feel more beautiful.

If your eyeliner tends to smear and crease, try dabbing a bit of a similar colored powdered eyeshadow over the top of it with a soft cotton swab. This will help to keep the eyeliner in place and make your eye makeup last longer before it requires a touch up.

Pick a foundation that is dermatologist approved and matches your natural skin tone well. Some foundations can clog your pores quite easily if you have sensitive skin, so find one that is oilfree as well. This will help keep your pores clear and help make your face look great and oilfree all day.

Select a curling iron, one size smaller than the curls you desire. This will help to ensure that your curls don't get limp or fall out after you put all the work into curling them. They will be a little tight at first but after you finish, gently run your fingers through them to break them up, and then hair spray to perfection.

Do you want clear, clean, healthy skin? Exfoliation is essential! Exfoliate your skin regularly to remove all the junk, chemicals, and dirt you expose yourself to every day. The internet has lots of great recipes for exfoliaters that clean your skin naturally and without costing you an arm and a leg, check it out!

Buy duplicates of your favorite beauty products if you can. Keep one at home and another in your car or in a desk drawer at work. It is a great way to be prepared if you forget to put your makeup on or are in a serious rush.

To reduce red tones in your skin, use a green based concealer. Because green and red are opposite from each other on the color wheel, the green tones in the concealer will cancel out any red tones in your skin. However, keep in mind that you only need to use a very small amount of concealer to counteract the red. If you use too much you can wind up looking green instead.

Go on a detox diet once a month to maximize your beauty routine. You may not realize how many toxins are building up in your body on a daily basis. If you do not remove them regularly, they just sit in your body, and may later negatively affect your health.

If you ever run out of concealer you can turn to your foundation! Simply turn the cap of the foundation over and you will find a thicker, more condensed collection of it which you can use in a pinch in place of your regular concealer. Simply dab your finger tip in the cap and pat the foundation under eyes or over any other blemish!

An excellent suggestion for achieving full lips is trying a glossy look. Try outlining the edges of the lips with a concealer brush that has been dipped in bronzer two shades deeper than the tone of your skin. Use a gloss on top with gold highlights to complete the look.

In conclusion, finding the right style can sometimes be hard. With all of the different hair and makeup styles and options available, anyone can have a hard time making a suitable combination. If you remember the beauty tips that were mentioned in the article above, you can have an easier time finding your style.

Wash your face before going to sleep. This will remove all the impurities and dirt from the day. Use a makeup remover first, to remove your makeup, then use a face wash. If you don't cleanse your face before bed, your pores can get clogged and cause pimples or spots.

Your hair color should influence which cosmetic colors look the best on you. For example, if you are a brunette, you can use a dark mahogany eyeshadow as a multitasking tool. In a pinch, it can be used to fill in sparse eyebrows, line your upper lash line, and even cover gray roots on your hairline.

Drinking an adequate supply of fresh water each day can improve the appearance of your skin and keep it healthy. Wrinkles, dullness and dryness are the result of inadequate water. Drink the recommended amount of water every day to keep this from happening to you. If you hate drinking water, add some flavor in it by adding a little cranberry juice or lemon. 7 Steps to Naturally Pretty Makeup For a Summer Romance

Summer 2013 makeup tends towards pretty colors. Gone are the boring nudes. What are they compared to this season's dramatic eyes and glorious bursts of color? Summer 2013's color is a far cry from the nudes of past seasons.

How do you wean yourself off nudes and add some pretty color to your face without looking like a clown? Too much color, done incorrectly, can look garish, not gorgeous.

Pink bridges the gap between color and nudes. It gives you a believable rosy glow that is radiant and pretty. Yet it does not try to hide the fact that you are wearing some makeup, albiet light makeup.

Here's how you can get that pretty pink all over look in just 7 steps:

1. Start with great skin. Or at least, the illusion of great skin by applying foundation or tinted moisturizer to even your skin tone. Pick one that matches your skin exactly. Dot it onto your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin and blend in thoroughly with your finger tips for a dewy finish.

2. Take a large blusher brush and pick up a baby pink cheek color if you are fair, a medium rose if you have medium to dark skin or fuschia if you have ebony skin. Dust the blush on your cheeks. The dust the remaining blush on the brush lightly across your forehead, nose and chin for all over radiance.

3. Apply a pink eyeshadow on your entire eyelid with an eyeshadow blush. Pink a pink that is a shade brighter or darker than your blush.

4. With your eyeshadow brush, apply a lilac or mauve eyeshadow (violet if you have ebony skin) in the crease of the eyelid and the outer corner of your eyes.

5. Line the inner corners of the eyes with white shimmer eyeshadow. Dip a clean eyeliner brush in water, then run it over the eyeshadow and use that to paint the inner corners of your eyes.

6. Line the upper lash line and outer edge of the lower lash line with black khol. Apply 2 coats of black mascara, letting the first coat dry completely before putting on the second coat. Remember to separate the lashes immediately after each coat of mascara by using a clean mascara wand.

7. Use a lip brush and paint baby pink lipstick on your lips if you are fair. If you have medium to dark skin, paint on a rose pink lipstick. If your skin is really dark, then use a fuschia lipstick. Dip the lipbrush into the lipstick and use the flat edge of the brush to line your lips. Pick up more color from the lipstick and paint in the rest of the lips.

Beauty products that have more than one use

There's a lot of it about: in addition to the polishdotted opaque tights I own, I've been known to scoop the warm wax out of essential oil candles to use as a skin softener on my hands. We've all heard about crmebased cosmetics doubling up as shadow, lipstick and blusher but, while Nars have made a cult out of the concept with their Multiple products, it's not something I'm keen on  as lip and cheek products are often pink, avoid on the eye area unless your intended result is myxomatosischic.

But I do have other ways of making my stuff work harder: I often (mis)use my posh shampoos to wash my makeup brushes  after all, they're worth it  and I am not unfond of fixing my brows with a swipe of my mascara wand as opposed to getting out a brow kit.

So, I reckon if the stuff I have in my bathroom cabinet can double up and do a couple of jobs for the price of one, then so much the better. The net effect? A smaller spend, more cupboard space and extra cash to spend on shoes. Ladies, I call that a result!

Fancy finding some more buys you can get to work twice as hard? You're in luck  here are nine multitaskers:

It turns out that goodold hairspray has a multitude of uses. You can lash it on to get a gravitydefying Jedward 'do, but it's got a couple of other tricks up its sticky sleeve. You can also use it to get pen marks off plastic and leather, and if you've got a skirt that's clinging to your tights, blast a squirt of it up and under and hey presto!  no more hungrylegseatingfabric shenanigans. L'Oral Paris Elnett, 7.32, is ideal: great for bouffing your 'do, it's a decent price and it comes with the added bonus of extra domestic uses.

Okay, okay, the dogs on the street know that Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream, 21, has a multitude of uses: massage it into cuticles, slick it on as a lip balm or apply as a salve to minor grazes, you can even use it as it was originally intended: on horses hooves. If your equine pal prefers something a bit more veterinary then that just means more for you, eh? The reason it's sneaking in is that the brand has got marketingsmart in recent years and the current incarnation boasts an 80s style print that provides perfect bathroom real estate. I knew I'd find an extra use for it: this is a decor definite as well as everything else. At department stores.

Garnier launched its zippy Pure Active Spot Rollon, 10.49, recently, and with 2pc salicylic acid, it really does work to banish angrylooking spots in a day or two. But that wasn't enough for me and because the ingredient is also used in lotions to tamp down razor burn and shaving rashes, I reckoned it was worth a try on the bikini line. Yep, this is a great substitute for farpricier buys such as Tend Skin, but it works just as well. If you're prone to ingrowing hairs postshave or wax, roll this baby over freshly depilated skin and bumps will be minimised. But will you promise me one thing, girls? If you intend to use this on face and nether regions, maybe think about buying two, eh?

What is his is yours and what's yours is your own, and when it comes to beauty, there are a couple of things you can happily plunder from his side of the bathroom cabinet. One is his razor  they're so much better than women's  and the other is his facial scrub. Men's skin is thicker and oilier than ours and as a result their cleansing and exfoliating products need to work harder. That translates into a scrub that's too rough for the average gal's complexion, but it's perfect for use on scaly upper arms or cleavage. Yon Ka for Men's Foam Scrub, 25.50, at salons.

As the beauty industry continues its campaign to part us from our cash, the craze for facial highlighters has intensified. Dewy creams and lotions are developed for application on the cheek and browbones, to impart a radiant look. But you can definitely cheat: Rimmel's Colour Mousse Eyeshadow in Snow Queen, 7.25, can be used on eyes and in fact, anywhere on the face. Dab a little on to your cupid's bow for an intensified lip look, or pat it gently across the top of cheekbones for party shine..

Beauty is Queen

Miss Bolivia Universe 2006, a 22yearold named Jessica Jordan, regularly gets greeted by politicians  her opinion matters  and never stops signing autographs. The pastime is so popular that even agricultural organizations get into the game each year, crowning a "Sugarcane Queen," "Milk Queen," and "Rice Queen."

While the dramatic snowcapped peaks in the Andes and the bowler hats and petticoats worn by indigenous women are widely known as the exported symbols of Bolivia, here in Santa Cruz, a steamy tropical city that seems far more like Brazil, beauty queens reign. And while in the United States Miss America promoters seek to justify the scholarly aspects of the contest, in Bolivia it's a celebration of long locks, long legs, and captivating smiles.

"Beauty queens are heroes here," says Roque Alvarenga, a makeup artist who coordinates pageants at Gloria Promotions, an agency that also offers beauty classes to local residents. "We don't have wellknown artists here. In Santa Cruz, it's the culture of beauty."

On a recent evening at Gloria Promotions, a group of young pupils sat in front of a wall mirror, makeup bags in their laps, and patiently learned the ins and outs of mascara and eyeliner application.

Other days they learn how to choose outfits for events and then how to colorcoordinate them. They learn where to put an executive or functionary at a dinner party, and how to speak well. They also practice walking down the runway.

The main difference from the Victorian "finishing schools" of the 19th century is that these kids are in jeans, not petticoats. They don't walk with books balanced on their heads, either  but they do prop sticks across their shoulders as a postureimproving exercise.

On this day, Maybelin Paniagua smudges beige eyeshadow over her lids. "Did I put it on right?" she asks her teacher, Fabiola Orteaga.

"You put it on? You can't even see it," Ms. Orteaga replies. Then the teacher moves on to eyelash curlers. "Press three seconds, and let go."

Many participants, like Jessica Soleto, hope to become beauty queens one day. "Ever since I was born," she says wistfully, her hair pulled back in a bun like a ballerina. "I would love to be Miss Santa Cruz and represent my people."

Others are sent by their mothers. "Many are never going to be models," says Mr. Alvarenga, who has worked at Gloria Promotions for 27 years. "But their mothers send them here to teach them how to eat better, and be more refined or raise their selfesteem."

Maybelin's mother, for one, says she sends her prepubescent daughter after school, so that will she stop slouching, and above all, improve her selfesteem. "With all the hormonal changes, I want her to be sure of herself, to learn posture, and to walk right," says Maybelin Ordonez. "For me, [her] becoming a beauty queen is not what I'm waiting for."

But it's hard not to get sucked into the allure of hair spray and high heels. Outside the class, makeup artists and hairdressers fuss over the aspiring beauty queens in the adjacent salon who are preparing to participate in the annual Miss Santa Cruz pageant on April 12.

They are greeted by Ms. Jordan, Miss Bolivia Universe 2006. These girls don't need to learn how to put on makeup  someone will do it for them. They will also have access to psychologists, plastic surgeons, dentists, and if needed.

For all of Jordan's fans, she also knows she has critics. But she brushes off those feminists who say it's all vanity, all pointless, objectifying. They carry out social projects: right now Jordan is helping raise money for flood victims in Bolivia. It's obvious that she has been well prepped to field questions, as she pauses and answers as if on stage: "As a beauty queen you are really in touch with people," she says, "and they support you and admire you."

For all the smiles, the pageants do underscore the sadder reality of racial divisions in a country that is split geographically between the more affluent east and the west, inhabited mostly by indigenous groups. In 2004, Miss Bolivia drew controversy for saying that Bolivia was only known as an indigenous country: "I'm from the other side of the country," she said publicly. "We are tall, and we are white people, and we know English."

Perhaps not the most politically correct statement, but Alvarenga defends it. "She spoke the truth," he says. "Pageants can help export Bolivia tourism to the world, which thinks we are only one type of person, that we are only indigenous."

If Santa Cruz's pageants could electrify a racial debate, they are more innocuous when it comes to body image, unlike their sisteractivity modeling, the recent punching bag in the renewed debate over anorexia. A "Miss" has to strive for perfection, says Tania Rocabado, who helps candidates prepare their answers for judges' questions, "and that means having meat," she says, sticking out a hip for emphasis.

But lest one think this school is a conservative throwback, there is a male in the class  a 20yearold model who wants to "get the edge" over his competitors. Gabriel Flores says the first makeup class he attended was such a blow to his pride he nearly walked out, but on a recent day he curled his eyelashes  just like the girls.

The best way to make brown eyes pop

Begin with an eyeshadow primer, which not only extends the life of eyeshadow but also tends to give a more saturated color result than using powder shadow alone. Gently pat eyeshadow primer from the lashline to just above the crease. (Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin is a great option in a complementing shimmery champagne formula.)

Apply pale shimmering purple eyeshadow from the lashline to the crease. MAC's eye shadow in Beautiful Iris is a great option for all skin tones. An eyeshadow brush with short, thick bristles will effectively allow you to get a wellsaturated color payoff. Gently buff the edges of the color with a clean soft brush to blur any harsh lines. If desired, also apply a hint of the color just below the lower lashline.

Framing the eyes with jetblack eyeliner will add a dramatic touch to the look and also further deepen the appearance of dark eyes. Line the rims of the eyes (above the lower lashline and below the upper lashline) with a true black liner with staying power (one to try: Lancome Le Crayon Khol in Black Ebony.)

Finish off the look by drenching lashes in dark black volumizing mascara. Lancome's Hypnose Drama mascara in Excessive Black is one of the best mascaras for delivering a boldly dramatic look. The stark black lashes will contrast beautifully with the pale shimmering purple eyeshadow, accenting brown eyes and making them appear deep, dark and chocolatey.

The best shadow color for your eyes

So, what about now? Why can you see someone wearing a deep purplish shadow and it's absolute perfection, but when you try a similar shade, you feel like a clown? And why can celebrities pull off looks that we just. can't?

Here's the truth: celebs don't look any better or worse in certain makeup than any other person who has similar eye and skin tones. That's the key. I've often heard makeup artists say, "Anyone can pull off red lipstick!" Well, yeah, technically that's true, but there are five billion shades of red lipstick and if you don't choose just the right one for your skin, you will look like a clown.

Choosing the right eyeshadow is all about two things: your skin tone and your eye color. Here are some quick tips to get you going in the right direction.

The paler your skin, the more washed out or even "goth" you will appear if you use very dark shades. To do a smokey or darker looking eye with pale skin, try charcoal, golden or even navy or purple shades to create the smokey effect, rather than black.

The more olive or the darker your skin tone, the stronger dark shades you can pull off. Blacks and dark shades won't overpower darker skin the way they can light skin.

Darker skin tends to look fresher and more glowy with peachy, golden and apricot shades, while very fair skin tends to look better with pink and bluebased shades.

If you have green, blue or hazel eyes, you have a few options. If you want to try matching makeup without looking outdated, try a darker shade of green or blue only on the top lid, and line with black or charcoal. Another choice that works well if you're in your teens or 20s is to use a pastel version of green or blue with lots of mascara.

The eyeshadow guideline that most makeup artists recommend currently is to find the opposite color of your eye color. For example, the opposite of green on the color wheel is red, and the opposite of blue is orange. Obviously, you don't want to wear red or orange eyeshadow (in most cases!) But you can find reddishbrown shadows for green eyes, or orangey tan or golden tones that make blue eyes pop.

If your eyes are brown, your options are wide open. You can stick with brownish shades, but you can also play with a lot of color. Burgundies look glamorous against dark eyes, as do golden and soft shimmery shadows. Light colors may also work, but keep this in mind if you've got darker skin and dark eyes, then light or pastel shadows may not work so well. Keep things mediumtodarker toned to balance out your tones.

Finally, there's not a person on earth that can't wear neutrals and neutral does not mean boring! There is so much variety in blacks, charcoals, metallics like silver and gold, browns. and they work on virtually everyone. Sometimes you just need to "play" with color a bit to find which ones make you glow, and which ones you just like better.

As a last tip don't think for a minute that more expensive equals better color. While there are expensive lines that rock like MAC, for example there are also cheaper lines that stay very true to color (meaning they look the same on your skin as they do in the pot.) One of my favorite shadow lines is Jane, which can be found at drugstores and large chainstores. Jane's eyeshadows go on just as dark or bright or strong as they look in the pot, which in my opinion is the most important thing about choosing a makeup line. Department stores and beauty supply stores are great, though, because of the opportunity they give you to play with shades and try them on your skin.

Just keep in mind that any person can wear any color it just may need to be tweaked a little (a bit lighter, a bit warmer, etc.) to give you your best face.

Beauty Tips To Develop Your Full Potential

You need tips to help you with your beauty routine. When you get good advice, you'll be successful in looking the best you can be. This article will advise you on how to get better results.

Exfoliate your skin before you apply a fake tan. When you do this, you will remove any dead skin cells and make it smoother. This will help your faux tan look more even and much smoother. It also gives you a longer lasting tan.

Research as shown that symmetrical faces seem to be the most beautiful. Taking steps to improve the symmetry of your face can make you appear more attractive. This can apply to anything from application of makeup to trimming of facial hair. Just try and make both sides of your face look the same.

See if you have allergies prior to using false eyelashes. Try testing the glue by placing it on your arm, and see if there are any allergic reactions. Protect the test area with a piece of gauze or cloth.

Target the center of the top of your lip with some white eyeshadow, to give your lips a bigger, fuller appearance. By emphasizing this area, you can make your upper lip appear fuller than in actuality.

Keep makeup removal wipes handy. People in the beauty industry use makeup remover pads if they mess up. This ensures you get the look you're after. Keep these in your arsenal at all times.

Mend haggard fingernails with a teabag. First, remove the leaves from the bag. Cut a small piece of the teabag that will cover the part of your nail that is torn. Last, put the material on the tear and apply clear nail polish.

For sparkling eyes, try using eye drops daily. Drops will also prevent the redness caused by dryness or irritation. If you use your eyes a lot at work, such as at a computer terminal, keep eye drops handy. Just keep some eye drops near your desk, and you'll be set.

Toilet paper will help to blot off the excess oil on your skin. This rough paper is an excellent method of blotting oily and sweaty skin. Take a few square pieces from the bathroom and blot to eliminate the oil.

Toilet paper is excellent for blotting excess oil off your face. Surprisingly enough, the coarseness of the paper aside, it can easily serve as an excellent blotter for skin that is oily. Just swipe off a square and press firmly to the oily areas on your face and presto, instant gorgeous!

To soften rough or hard skin on toes and feet, apply petroleum jelly to them. While there are countless of products out there, none are more trusted than petroleum jelly. Apply petroleum jelly every other day for feet that are smooth, rather than dry and peely.

A review of the 88 Color eyeshadow palette

One of the Colorfulonline palettes was reviewed: the 88 Color Matte palette. There are beautiful reds, purples, yellows, and even neutral shades as well. The color palette is very convenient for a number of reasons. The palette is easy to transport, so while this palette can be used everyday, it can also be taken along in one's professional makeup artist kits. It can also be taken on a business trip or vacation. Every eyeshadow palette also contains a mirror and two eyeshadow applicators.

All of the shades have a gorgeous matte finish, and it is clear to see why so many consumers love the various palettes.

The brand says of the product: "Your eyes are radiant masterpieces, and they deserve this classic palette's bold strokes of beauty. Buttercup yellows and rich reds, lake blues and leaf greens highlight gorgeous eyes. Luminous golds, classy bronzes, and plum colors make a fun fashion statement. Sassy turquoises and light mint greens bring glamour to another level."

The shades in the palette are very pigmented, and will look even more high intensity with an eyeshadow primer applied under the shadows. The palette originally retails for $18.95, and it is currently on sale for $15.99 (http://www.colorfulonline.com/88-color-eye-shadow-palette-3-set-optional-12-units-eye-shadow-mineral-powder-pigment_p2368.html). There is an exact color palette, but rather than the matte finish, the eyeshadows have a shimmer finish, and they are highly pigmented as well.

Tutorial And Tips To Make Green Eyes Pop

What colors of makeup for green eyes works best? Well since mine are this color, and since I also love to experiment with makeup I thought I'd share a few of my own thoughts as well as a quick tutorial of what I like to use myself to help make my green eyes pop.

Here is a list of colors that compliment:

creamy nudes, light browns, champagne, and soft peachy or apricot colors plums and violets (very soft pinks too) super darks, browns, and blacks AVOID: silver and white

I think all of these have their pros when it comes to choosing makeup for green eyes, but in my experience I think it definitely depends on a few factors including your skin tone, your personal preference, and of course what you are most comfortable with. So FYI, I typically I like to stick with more neutral colors on a daytoday basis.

I'd like to give you a kind of makeup for green eyes tutorial that I do on myself it'd look like this:

Start with an eyeshadow primer (something like Urban Decay Potion, or Too Faced Shadow Insurance) Begin by applying a matte nude shade all over the lid and just above the lid crease Choose a darker brown eyeshadow to apply to the corner crease creating a slight "v" and continue along the crease only until about half way towards the inner corner Now go with either a light brown, a peach, or a purple shade for your lid and pack it on Blend! blend! blend! this is so important when putting on makeup Add a shimmery highlight to the corner crease (this helps to make green eyes pop) Choose a browbone highlight and apply right up to the brows I like to use either a brown or a black eyeliner on the top lashline My trick now is to add a bright green shadow or pencil liner to my bottom waterline With an angled eyeshadow brush add a bronze color to the bottom lashline pulling up and wing out a bit Finish with a few good coats of mascara on the top and just a smaller coat on the bottom

Now, if you're one of those people who always sticks to the exact same makeup for green eyes routine you can definitely rest assured that you are not alone. Most of us tend to find what works, and go with it for months if not years. I definitely like to have fun with a pop of color and I also like to experiment with other makeup tricks that aren't necessarily meant for green, but also brown, and blue  within reason, lol. Let me know if you have any tricks of your own!.

Beauty Advice Tips

Yup! I've used their concealer, blush, eyeshadow, and powder brush. The concealer works really well for undereyes, especially considering it's a powder. The problem is that they don't have a lot of shades, but you could probably mix two together. Their blushes come in some beautiful natural looking shades, comparable to NARS (my favorite blush maker). They don't stay on a long time on me, but that's probably because I used a featherweight brush with all my blushes. As for their eyeshadow. I can't comment too much because they keep sending me the same blue sample every time I order, and I can't wear blue. I'd love to try their eyeliner though, it sounds neat.

I absolutely love their foundation brush.! I honestly wouldn't love their foundation so much if it weren't for the brush. It's so dense that you apply and buff in one step. It looks so natural afterward it's awesome. It covers up my blemishes fairly well (considering it's power, not liquid,) while barely looking like makeup.

I do think Alima is probably the best mineral makeup company out there. Everyday Minerals is a good brand too. Their Original Glo formula is good for people with dry skin, and I like their Intensive formula for more troubleprone skin. You can get samples from either brand, which is a huge plus. Alima also makes custom mixtures if you don't find an exact match (which I have done, for just a little extra.)

Okay, I'm done raving for now.

The brush sounds great! Have you ever tried Aromaleigh? I got some samples of their foundations and eyeshadow and a liner, love the liner, the foundations are to light for me but of course that was my fault, not theirs! And i can always mix em with a darker shade to use them, so that's fine. I am going to try the gel eyeliner that Aromaleigh has, I am so curious about it, it sounds so easy to use!!
